Claiming the Prize

According to Sazka's spokesperson, Václav Friedmann, the winner has 365 days to claim their prize, a period extended by an amendment to the lottery law that came into effect in January 2017. Previously, winners had only 35 days to come forward, as in the case of the 2.466 billion CZK winner from 2015, who claimed their prize 26 days after the draw.

Staying Anonymous

The 2015 winner, a middle-aged man from the Pardubice region, chose to remain anonymous, stating that he waited for the media frenzy to subside before stepping forward to claim his prize. The desire for privacy is common among lottery winners , who often wish to avoid the sudden attention that comes with such life-altering wealth.
